Dr. Andrea Lopez-Yianilos is a New York and Florida licensed clinical psychologist who will guide you in living a more satisfying and fulfilled life
ABOUT DR. LOPEZ-YIANILOS
I am a New York and Florida licensed psychologist currently offering tele-therapy during the COVID-19 pandemic. As a native South Floridian with a diverse background, I focus on creating a comfortable, respectful, and inviting space for each and every one of my clients. Within this framework of therapy, I warmly and collaboratively encourage clients to discover themselves and explore the relationships with others to work toward living a more satisfying way of life. Mental health is an imperative part of our wellbeing and I am hopeful about some of the change I see within our society that has started to break down the stigma towards seeking help. If any of this resonates with you, I look forward to meeting with you.
I received my doctorate degree from Nova Southeastern University and completed my internship at the Miami VA Medical Center. Following my doctoral education, I moved to NYC to complete my postdoctoral fellowship at Columbia Psychiatry and NYSPI.
I am experienced working with adults struggling with:
insomnia and other sleep difficulties
trauma or Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
childhood trauma or sexual assault
relationship concerns (e.g., communication, divorce, marriage, work relationships)
life transitions (e.g., loss of a loved one, starting a new career, having a child)
chronic health conditions
managing COVID-19 stress and work from home stressors
I offer individual therapy via online video conferencing using a secure and HIPAA-compliant program. If you travel for work and would like to meet in person as well, we could do a combination of in-person and video therapy. Currently, I am offering only telehealth therapy due to the COVID-19 pandemic but hope to return to in-person sessions as soon as is feasible.
INDIVIDUAL & BUSINESS CONSULTATION
As a behavioral sleep medicine expert, I offer consultation services for clinicians and businesses (e.g., sleep education, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-i), Positive Airway Pressure (PAP) device adherence).
I also work with businesses interested in improving work culture and employee satisfaction, and am available for speaking engagements or mental health panels.
Rates & Insurance
Payment is due at the time of the appointment. Dr. Lopez-Yianilos is an out-of-network provider and does not accept insurance. Dr. Lopez-Yianilos would be happy to provide you with a billing invoice that can be submitted for insurance reimbursement each month.
What to expect during the first session
During the initial meeting, Dr. Lopez-Yianilos will get to know you better as well as establish goals for treatment in a collaborative way. Treatment options may be presented and will be tailored to meet your needs. Appropriate referrals may also be provided, if necessary.
There are a variety of treatment options, what do they mean?
Dr. Lopez-Yianilos will provide you with the theory and support for each treatment she offers. After the initial evaluation, she will also discuss treatment recommendations based on your needs, and her clinical and professional opinion.
